Initial Consultation
- ⇢ Fixed-fee consultation: £100 + VAT (up to 1 hour)
This includes reviewing your circumstances and providing clear advice on your options and next steps.
Divorce Proceedings
- ⇢ Uncontested divorce (petitioner): £1,100 + VAT plus court fee (£612)
- ⇢ Uncontested divorce (respondent): £900 + VAT
- ⇢ Contested divorce: quoted individually, usually £2,500 – £5,000 + VAT depending on complexity
Financial Settlements
- ⇢ Financial Remedy Consent Order (where agreement already reached): £1,500 – £2,500 + VAT plus court fee (£58)
- ⇢ Negotiated financial settlement: £3,000 – £6,000 + VAT (depending on disclosure and complexity)
- ⇢ Contested financial proceedings: from £6,000 + VAT plus court fee (£275); total fees may be higher if a final hearing is required
Children Matters
- ⇢ Child arrangements order (uncontested): £1,500 – £2,500 + VAT plus court fee (£255)
- ⇢ Contested child arrangements (residence/contact/maintenance): £3,000 – £7,500 + VAT depending on length of proceedings
- ⇢ Specific issue or prohibited steps orders: from £2,000 + VAT plus court fee (£255)
Protective Orders (Domestic Abuse)
- ⇢ Non-molestation or occupation order applications: £5,500 – £5,000 + VAT depending on urgency and whether contested
Hourly Rates
For complex or contested cases, fees are charged on a time-cost basis:
- ⇢ Solicitors: £200 – £300 + VAT per hour
- ⇢ Paralegals: £150 + VAT per hour
We will always provide an estimate at the outset and keep you updated on costs throughout.
Disbursements
In addition to our fees, you may need to pay:

- ⇢ Court fees (divorce petition: £612; child application: £255; financial order: £58/£275)
- ⇢ Barrister’s fees for representation at hearings: usually £750 – £2,500 + VAT per day, depending on seniority
- ⇢ Expert reports (e.g. property or pension valuations): variable depending on expert instructed
Timescales
- ⇢ Uncontested divorce: usually 6–9 months, depending on court processing times
- ⇢ Financial settlements: 3–12 months, depending on complexity and whether contested
- ⇢ Children proceedings: 3–12 months, depending on the issues and the number of hearings required
- ⇢ Protective orders: urgent applications can often be made within days

- ⇢ The above fees apply to straightforward cases. Where your case is particularly complex or involves urgent/emergency work, we will provide a bespoke quote.
- ⇢ We may be able to agree staged or fixed fees for certain matters to provide greater certainty.
